Bollywood star and heartthrob Salman Khan was in Dubai last week to host the first ever exhibition of his paintings in the Gulf region.

Khan kept it simple but classy in black, and looked as charming as ever.
Reports have it he arrived by himself, without any pomp or show, and was the perfect host. He seemed thrilled yet humbled that so many people had showed up to have a look at his creations.
Khan even patiently explained all his art work to those who were curious to know what it was about.

He started painting because he felt like he needed an outlet for his emotions and all the things going on in his life.All the proceeds from his paintings are going to go towards his charity, Being Human. One of his paintings went for a huge sum of AED 350, 000.

Khan said he was scared no one would show up for his exhibition.

A host of B-town biggies, including Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, thronged the couple's reception at a five star hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday evening.

Shilpa looked stunning in a golden Tarun Tahiliani gown, while Raj wore a black sherwani. The chuda (bangle) on Shilpa's wrists could not be missed, which was a sure sign that the Bunt girl was following all the Punjabi traditions!

And just as prominent as the newly wedded couple, was the starry affair at the grand reception. King Khan accompanied by wife Gauri and his gang of friends, including Hrithik Roshan and wife Suzanne, Zayed Khan and Malaika, Fardeen Khan and Natasha, thronged the reception.

Paa had his lovely daughter in-law Aishwarya for company. Hoping there were no fireworks, Rekha too made her precious presence at the reception.

Shilpa Shetty had turned down a deal from UK's Hello magazine for exclusive coverage of her wedding (including her sangeet and mehendi)

to Raj Kundra on November 22. The actress was offered approximately 75,000 pounds (over 50 lakh) in exchange for exclusive picture rights.

A source close to Shilpa says, "It's the first time than an Indian actress has been offered so much money for coverage of an event.

This is more than what Aishwarya Rai was offered for her wedding. Shilpa is a big celebrity in the UK

(thanks to her winning the reality show Big Brother) and Raj Kundra too is a well-known industrialist,

so they were keen to cover this wedding."

But Shilpa was very firm about refusing the magazine exclusive rights to her shaadi. She even avoided getting married in Raj's

opulent 10 million-pound mansion at Surrey in UK to stay away from the paparazzi. The source adds, "One of the

clauses in the contract offered by the international magazine was that no other photographers would be allowed

at the event. Also they didn't want any of the guests to carry their cell phones in case someone leaked the pictures to

other media. And Shilpa wasn't comfortable with both these conditions."

Also, she is not looking to make money on this wedding. It is a sacred and a

beautiful occasion for her, and she doesn't want any bad energy around."

Avantika (Kareena Kapoor), a Psychology professor in New York, decides to make her way back to India to be with her ailing father. She temporarily finds work at the prestigious Delhi University and meets Ehsaan Khan (Saif Ali Khan) a substitute teacher at the same University.

Ehsaan may have rubbed her the wrong way trying to steal a cab from under her nose, but his charm is irresistible. Sparks fly and Avantika can’t hold out against it for long. Despite reservations about Ehsaan being a Muslim, her father agrees to bless their wedding. Avantika and Ehsaan are married and leave to start a new life in New York. As soon as they settle in, Avantika manages to find a job for Ehsaan at a local University. They set out to look for a home for themselves, but Ehsaan doesn’t seem to like any of the houses they see. Finally through an advertisement of an Indian neighbourhood, Avantika manages to find a house Ehsaan actually likes. Their neighbours are conservative Muslims and their lifestyles are a revelation to Avantika. At dinner, she is taken away from Ehsaan into another quarter where all the women dine separately. They all seem to blindly accept and obey the code of conduct set by Nasreen, who along with her husband Bhaijaan are almost the de facto head of the neighborhood. All of them look up to her. All accept another young woman, Salma. Salma visits Avantika surreptitiously the next day and asks her not to trust anyone. She tells her that her own life is in danger and she needs help. What follows are a series of bizarre events that turn Avantika’s life upside down and drive her into a morass of emotions that spin madly out of control taking her to a point of no return.
